Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met by a Lion King representative and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha. Settle in, relax, and prepare for the exciting days ahead.

Day 2: Arusha – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast at 7:00 am, depart for the legendary Serengeti National Park. Known for having the most extensive wildlife population on Earth, the Serengeti features a pristine and complex ecosystem. Its name, meaning “endless plains” in the Maasai language, is a perfect description of the vast landscapes that stretch as far as the eye can see. This remarkable wilderness must be experienced in person to be truly appreciated.

Day 3: Manyara – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, continue your journey towards the fertile highlands, where crops such as wheat, coffee and maize are grown by the Iraqw people. As you pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoy magnificent views of the Ngorongoro Crater before travelling onward to the Serengeti National Park.

Day 4: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

Today is dedicated entirely to game drives in the Serengeti. The park is home to an incredible variety of wildlife including impala, buffalo, hippos and crocodiles. It is especially renowned for the Great Migration, where vast herds of wildebeest and zebras travel across the plains in search of fresh grazing. Their route changes each year, guided by the rains.

Day 5: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

Enjoy another full day exploring the Serengeti’s endless beauty and abundant wildlife. With its rich ecosystems and diverse habitats, this region offers some of the best game viewing in Africa.

Day 6: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After an early breakfast, head out for another rewarding game drive in the Serengeti. With luck, you may spot the iconic Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard—before travelling towards the Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 7: Ngorongoro – Karatu

Early risers are treated to spectacular sunrise views over the crater rim. After breakfast, descend the steep track into the Ngorongoro Crater. This UNESCO World Heritage Site, formed millions of years ago, is 610 metres deep and spans approximately 260 square kilometres. Home to around 25,000 animals, it offers some of the best wildlife viewing in Tanzania.

Day 8: Karatu – Tarangire – Arusha

After breakfast, drive to your final destination: Tarangire National Park. Famous for its large elephant herds and picturesque landscapes, Tarangire features open savannah, seasonal swamps and the life-giving Tarangire River. From the vehicle’s open roof, you can search for elephants, giraffes, buffalo, zebras and many more species. After an extensive game drive, return to Arusha, marking the end of your unforgettable safari.
