11-Day Kenya & Zanzibar Safari: Tsavo, Amboseli, Maasai Mara & Beach Escape

Day 1 – Nairobi to Tsavo East National Park

Pick up from your hotel or the airport at 6:00 am to begin your safari. Arrive at Tsavo East National Park in time for lunch and some free time before a late afternoon game drive.
Tsavo East is famous for its excellent wildlife sightings, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, elephants, buffalo, and a variety of antelopes. Birdwatchers will enjoy migratory and native species, especially between October and January.
Dinner and overnight at Tarhi Camp or Voi Safari Lodge.

Day 2 – Tsavo East to Tsavo West National Park

After an early morning game drive and breakfast, depart for Tsavo West. Arrive in time for lunch, then visit the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary in the late afternoon. The sanctuary protects endangered black rhinos, whose numbers are steadily increasing.
Followed by a game drive in Tsavo West, spotting elephants, buffalo, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and more. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 – Tsavo West to Amboseli National Park

Begin the day with an early morning game drive and a visit to Mzima Springs to observe hippos, crocodiles, exotic fish, and tropical vegetation. Enjoy birdwatching along the way.
After breakfast, drive south to Amboseli National Park (approx. 2 hours). Arrive for lunch, relax, then enjoy an afternoon game drive.
Dinner and overnight at Sentrim Amboseli or Kibo Camp.

Day 4 – Full Day in Amboseli National Park

Spend the day on game drives in Amboseli, a relatively small park that makes wildlife spotting easy. On clear days, enjoy stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Look out for elephants, lions, zebras, buffalo, giraffes, cheetahs, hippos, baboons, and over 425 bird species.
Dinner and overnight at Sentrim Amboseli or Kibo Camp.

Day 5 – Amboseli to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, depart Amboseli and travel to Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving for lunch.
Enjoy an afternoon game drive along the lake, famous for flamingos and diverse birdlife, as well as wildlife including rhinos, lions, leopards, and buffalo.
Dinner and overnight at Flamingo Hill or Lake Nakuru Lodge.

Day 6 – Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, drive to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, arriving for lunch. Spend the afternoon on a game drive in this iconic reserve, home to lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos.
Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day 7 – Full Day in Maasai Mara

Enjoy an early morning game drive followed by breakfast at the lodge. Spend the day exploring the reserve in search of predators and their prey, including wildebeest, zebra, giraffes, hippos, and crocodiles in the Mara River.
Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day 8 – Maasai Mara to Zanzibar

After breakfast, enjoy a morning of leisure at the lodge before transferring to Nairobi for your scheduled flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your beach hotel on a full-board basis.
Dinner and overnight at Karafuu Beach Hotel or Z Hotel.

Days 9–10 – Relaxing in Zanzibar

Spend the next days relaxing on Zanzibar’s white sandy beaches and turquoise waters. Enjoy snorkeling, diving, or exploring the world-class coral reefs. Optional tours include visiting Stone Town, famous for its spice markets, labyrinthine streets, and rich cultural heritage.
Meals and overnight at Karafuu Beach Hotel or Z Hotel.

Day 11 – Departure from Zanzibar

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight back to Nairobi to connect with your onward journey home. Reflect on the unforgettable memories of this safari adventure.
