3 Days Mombasa to Tsavo East and West Safari Adventure

Day 1: Mombasa – Tsavo East National Park

Your Mombasa to Tsavo East and West safari begins with a 7:00 a.m. pick-up from your coastal hotel. Drive along the Mombasa–Nairobi Highway with a short stop at Ngwata Curio Shop for a refreshment break. Enter Tsavo East National Park through Bachuma Gate and enjoy a mid-morning game drive en route to the Aruba man-made dam—an excellent wildlife viewing point.

Arrive at Aruba Lodge for lunch and check-in. Relax by the pool before your late afternoon game drive at 3:30 p.m. for two hours of prime wildlife viewing. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Tsavo East – Tsavo West National Park

Start the day with a 6:15 a.m. early morning game drive, then return to the lodge for breakfast at 8:45 a.m. After check-out at 9:45 a.m., proceed through the Mombasa–Nairobi Highway and enter Tsavo West National Park via Tsavo River Gate.

Enjoy a mid-morning game drive en route to your chosen accommodation—Ngulia Lodge, Ngulia Bandas Lodge, or Kilaguni Lodge. After a short relaxation break, embark on an afternoon game drive to the Rhino Sanctuary in Rhino Valley, where you may spot the rare black rhino or even a leopard. Return to your lodge around 6:30 p.m. for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Tsavo West – Mombasa

Begin with an early breakfast at 6:30 a.m. and then a visit to the famous Mzima Springs to observe hippos, crocodiles, and fresh-water fish such as tilapia. Continue your tour through the dramatic Shetani Lava Flow, a remarkable volcanic formation.

Check out of the park around 1:30 p.m. and drive to Voi town for lunch. Afterward, proceed back to Mombasa, arriving at your coastal hotel around 5:30 p.m., marking the conclusion of your enriching Mombasa to Tsavo East and West safari.
